And why should they?
Like cheetahs in the wild, forming a coalition is far more effective than going solo.
Sure, we can go out and hunt for prey, feed our young and make our homes on our own. But when we build together, we are much more powerful.
That’s why today we’re launching Matria Coalition.
Matria Coalition is a community dedicated to empowering and investing in women. Together, we empower each other to step into our highest selves, our inner Matriarchs, by celebrating the power and femininity of women.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the meaning of the word coalition. My cousins and I were raised in somewhat of a coalition, although it was never quite called that. My mom, two aunts and grandmother worked at the family business while raising a total of ten children. Over time, the workload vacillated between these four women while they balanced their responsibilities at the office with managing a home and caring for us. Some days, it meant cousin playdates as my busy aunt fed us, while others resulted in mom doing payroll at the beach. They were true pioneers in remote work. It wasn’t perfect, and my aunts would certainly have lots of thoughts on their arrangement, but it’s a model we can learn from–inspiration to band together to achieve more, do better and have fun along the way.
Women can do it all, but not all alone.
Our Coalition is gathering for the first time tonight, a natural progression for many of the members. Our founding Matria Coalition formed organically over the last year through a series of events that invite us to pause and ponder life’s synchronicities. Already, we’ve supported each other in clearing paths, setting big goals and taking tangible steps towards our futures. We’ve workshopped business ideas, retreated deep into wellness and bonded over our shared beliefs.
I’m truly honored to be facilitating this coalition and holding space for what’s to come.
Matria Coalition is now open for new member enrollment. If you’re interested in learning more, I invite you to message me at: michelle@joinmatria.com
